Con el actual sencillo “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, que llegó esta semana al número uno de la lista Hot 100 de Billboard, Katy Perry se convierte en el segundo artista en los 53 años de la lista en ubicar cinco sencillos del mismo álbum en el top. Previamente el récord estaba ocupado por Michael Jackson con su álbum “Bad”. Katy se convierte en la primera mujer y la única artista viva en alcanzar este título.
Este logro es conseguido después de que el álbum Teenage Dream publicado en el 2010, se convirtiera en el primer disco en casi 19 años de la existencia de la lista de Canciones Pop de Billboard en lograr cinco sencillos número 1. Katy ha dominado la radio pop en el último año con los temas “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework”, “E.T.”, y “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” consiguiendo cinco de las seis canciones con la mayor cantidad de reproducciones en una semana en la historia de la lista. Así, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” desbanca a “E.T.” al convertirse en la canción con más reproducciones en una semana en la historia de este listado.
Actualmente la cantante se encuentra en medio de su casi totalmente vendido Tour California Dreams que comenzó a principios de este año con presentaciones en Europa, Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Japón, México y Estados Unidos.
